We're two creatives based in Christchurch, New Zealand, Stephen McCarthy and Laura Griffithsand we've had our fair share of earthquakes over the past couple of years.

With both of our workplaces demolished and more and more gaps appearing in our cityscape we wanted to document what was there before we forget all the great old buildings we used to see every day.

We decided to draw them as pictograms because we could capture the character of each place without including every single detail, kind of like the way our memories work.

Our poster and tote bags represent the hangouts and the historic buildings we remember best. If you like what we’re doing we'll keep drawing, and get another edition out when we can.

Your House as a Pictogram?

We thought we’d also provide a service creating personal pictograms for people who have lost their home. Our aim is to provide you with an A4 print on heavy archival quality paper for $150nzd plus p&p, we'd just need some reference pics and we can take it from there.
